Terms of Service
Last updated: July 6, 2026
This is a plain-language agreement for an early-stage service. It is not a substitute for legal advice.
1. What Unbase is
Unbase (unbase.dev) is a hosted SQL database service operated by Gonçalo Henriques. When you visit the site, we provision a real SQLite database for you with a URL and access token — no signup required. You can query it over HTTP, hand it to an AI agent, claim it with your email to keep it, export it, or delete it. By using the service you agree to these terms.
2. Beta service, provided as is
Unbase is early-stage software. The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. Availability — especially on the free tier — is best-effort: we use rate limits and a circuit breaker to keep the service healthy, and we may change plan limits, features, or pricing as the service evolves. We'll try to give notice of significant changes, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Unbase to:
- store or distribute illegal content;
- store or distribute malware or use the service to support attacks on others;
- store content that infringes someone else's rights or that is abusive or harassing;
- store personal data or other data you don't have the right to store;
- attempt to disrupt the service, probe or bypass its security, or deliberately circumvent or exceed rate limits and plan limits.
To report abuse, email abuse@unbase.dev.
4. Anonymous projects expire after 7 days
Projects created without an account are anonymous and are permanently deleted 7 days after creation unless you claim them with your email address. Deleted anonymous projects cannot be recovered. If you care about the data, claim the project or export a SQL dump before the 7 days are up.
5. Claimed projects and your account
Claiming a project attaches it to your email address and moves it to the free plan, so it no longer expires. You're responsible for keeping your access tokens secret — anyone with a token has full access to that project. You can export a full SQL dump of any project, or permanently delete it, at any time.
6. Paid plans
Paid plans (Founder €5/mo, Pro €15/mo) are listed on the site but self-serve purchase isn't available yet. When it is, payments will be billed via Stripe, and payment terms (billing cycle, refunds, taxes) will be added here before the first charge. Nothing on the free tier requires payment.
7. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate projects or accounts that violate these terms — particularly the acceptable-use rules — or that put the service or other users at risk. Where practical, we'll warn you first. You can stop using Unbase at any time by deleting your projects; deletion is permanent.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gonçalo Henriques is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data — please keep your own backups using the export endpoint. Our total liability for any claims arising from the service is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (which, on the free tier, is zero).
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version, and we'll announce material changes on the site or by email to claimed accounts. Continuing to use Unbase after a change means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Questions about them, or anything else, go to abuse@unbase.dev. For privacy questions, see our Privacy Policy.
